What are the biggest draws of your destination for groups?
The ATL Airport District is easily accessible from Atlanta’s major interstates and only a few minutes away from the airport via free ATL SkyTrain. With more than 8,000 hotel rooms for meeting and convention attendees and unique venues that can accommodate any event, including the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC), the District can support any convention or event.

The ATL Airport District offers a welcoming destination for groups of all sizes. With a convention center connected to the ATL airport by a free 24/7 SkyTrain and over 8,000 hotel rooms within a 3 mile radius of the airport, the ATL Airport District is an ideal location for any group.
If you had to emphasize one unique appeal of your destination that you believe sets you apart from all others, what would that be?
With service to over 150 cities across the U.S. and non-stop service to over 60 international destinations in 50 countries, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport easily earns its title of the world’s most traveled airport. It’s also known for efficiency, with features like an elevated train that carries passengers from the terminal to the convention center in just two minutes. The ATL SkyTrain runs 24/7 free of charge.
What surprises travelers the most about your destination?
What surprises planners most is the ability and proximity to new experiences. The ATL Airport District is home to the Porsche Driving Experience, Chick-fil-A Backstage Tour and only 10 miles from downtown Atlanta, and popular attractions such as the World of Coca-Cola, Georgia Aquarium, and Centennial Olympic Park. A visit to the Center for Civil and Human Rights takes you on a journey through the American Civil Rights and Global Human Rights movements. Two of our hometown heroes, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and President Jimmy Carter, also have Centers dedicated to their lives’ work. Or if arts are your thing, treat yourself to an afternoon at Atlanta’s renowned High Museum of Art, featuring more than 15,000 works of art.
How do you define a successful group event at your destination?
When our team is able to provide customers with personalized assistance and services that benefit and enhance the success of their meeting that's when we feel like we've had a successful group meeting in our destination. We achieve this by providing destination marketing resources, utilizing supplier relationships, and welcoming attendees upon arrival — the end goal being a commitment to return to the District with future business.
In one sentence, why should planners choose to hold their meeting at your destination over the thousands of other choices around the globe?
Situated between Atlanta and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the District offers a free 24/7 ATL SkyTrain from the airport to the convention center campus, a variety of facilities for events of all sizes, and accommodations priced about 30% cheaper than the same stuff in the big city.
