How were you able to adapt during COVID-19 when the meeting and events industry got disrupted?

Our live event cancellation from Spring 2020 really threw the organization for a loop as this was our lead revenue generator, and with our team of professionals and forward-thinking leadership, we were able to pivot pretty quickly into the digital world. We found new ways to engage with our members in a digital realm, with monthly topic-focused virtual happy hours for our different member demographics, virtual events and trade shows and revamped marketing tactics to reach a wider audience than we had previously. In a sense, the event cancellation was even good for us because it allowed us to reconnect with our members in more ways than just hosting them at a conference and gave them the opportunity to show us more of what they want out of membership and participating in our association and events.

This post is part of the HopSkip Planner Spotlight Series where we celebrate the positivity and optimism shown by planners across the industry when navigating the turbulent waters that COVID-19 has brought the meetings and events industry.   Keep an eye out as we release more stories like this over the next few months.
