Name: Amanda Eriksen

Company Name: Civic Winery & Wines

Job Title: Events Director

Years of Experience: 21

How were you able to adapt during COVID-19 when the meeting and events industry got disrupted?

I kept up-to-date on all of the science driven federal, state and local guidance related to COVID-19 and how that translated to the state of the events industry at any given time. I find my skills in research, flexibility, caution, and patience often used during the pandemic.

As a planner, what was the number one thing you learned over the past year?

Self care is vital first before taking on challenges outside of self.

Is there anything you are changing in your planning process moving forward as a result of the pandemic?

We have incorporated pandemic related language into Civic Winery event contracts and plan current events in accordance with the Oregon Health Authority's latest guidelines. The event space has ultra high ceilings and multiple winery rollup lift doors throughout the space that we open during events which allow us to maximize airflow and guest movement.
