Name: MaryBeth Powers

Company Name: Planning Powers, LLC

Job Title: President

Years of Experience: 25+

How were you able to adapt during COVID-19 when the meeting and events industry got disrupted?

First off, I was able to reduce my stress, which was much needed. Secondly, I was able to pivot and do what I enjoy the most, site selection and contract negotiations. There were many re-books that I needed to do for my clients.

As a planner, what was the number one thing you learned over the past year?

To reduce my stress and from here on forward, delegate more tasks to my associates.

Is there anything you are changing in your planning process moving forward as a result of the pandemic?

I would prefer to now focus on site selection and hotel contract negotiations and delegate more management tasks to my associates.
