What is the history of the property and its origin story?
The Hotel originally opened in the early 1980's as the Hershey Hotel (Hershey chocolate) and transitioned over to a Hilton property in the early 90's.
What makes the property's experience different than the other hotels in the destination?
We are proud to be the largest Hilton Hotel in Philadelphia, but what really makes our guest experience different from other hotels is our tenured staff. Whether it is our bellmen, banquet team, or sales and catering, each department has long standing employees of at least 25+ years that bring an added level of service and experience for our guests.
Could you tell us more about the services and amenities that the hotel offers?
Academy Coffee + Market located in our Lobby offers La Colombe coffee, beer, wine and delicious sandwiches and snacks. Our two restaurants: Balcony open for breakfast daily, and Standing O offering lunch, dinner, and cocktails. We are also a pet-friendly hotel because we want to be sure the whole family can experience our Hotel and wonderful city!

Our central location along the Avenue of the Arts sets us apart from the other Hotels in Philadelphia. Our guests have the unique opportunity to experience the city's theater district right outside our front doors. The city's vibrancy can be felt in any direction our guest walks including endless restaurant options, nightlife, historic sites, and shopping all within a few block radius of the Hotel. Philadelphia is ranked the 5th Most Walkable City in the US and our location is in the middle of everything Philadelphia has to offer!

The DoubleTree Philadelphia boasts 27,000 sq. ft. of meeting space that includes two ballrooms and flexible breakout space.

Navigating to the Hotel is made easy as we are only 9 miles from the Philadelphia International Airport. Also accessible via SEPTA Regional Rail, less than 2 miles from the 30th Street Amtrak Station and directly above the SEPTA Broad Street Line.

As the meetings/events community and landscape evolves, how do you expect the property to grow over the next several years?
We want to remain connected to what challenges our clients are facing especially in a Post-COVID world. We want to learn, evolve, and grow by listening to our customers' needs. We closely partner with the Convention and Visitor's Bureau and our Hilton Sales team to keep our fingers on the pulse of our industry and city.
