77% of planners are saying that finding hotel availability, proposal response time, and hidden fees/calculating total projected cost are their top three current challenges faced when sourcing meetings today.

What this tells us:
Planners are facing three main challenges today when sourcing meetings and events from hotels. Two of the three most common challenges are; being able to find hotels that have their meeting dates available and the amount of time it is taking for hotels to respond to the planner's request with a proposal. These two challenges are not surprising due to hotels being short on staff combined with an increase in demand from all of the COVID-10 cancellations.
The third most common challenge, "calculating hidden fees and total projected cost," is something that we're seeing more and more planners note as a challenge. Due to the different taxes and fees that each state and hotel may have, this can be a very tedious and daunting task for many planners.
